Was There Ever an Epstein List?

On the docket this week: the Big Beautiful Bill, the non-release of the Epstein List, and more political nonsense out of Augusta

Matt, Jake and Harris return once more to discuss the final passage of the Big Beautiful Bill, the fallout from Senator Collins vote against the bill, the non-release of the so-called “Epstein List,” the end of the legislative session in Augusta, and the resolution to Laurel Libby’s lawsuit.

First up, the BBB was indeed big and a bill, but was it beautiful? We tackle that question by diving into some of the contents, many of which are indeed great, while others are less so. We also talk about the controversial (to some) reforms to the Medicaid program, and what they will actually mean for Maine and the United States.

We couldn’t talk about that subject without noting the Maine Senator Susan Collins voted against the BBB in the end, though she is getting no “credit” from the left for doing so. Will there be a political price to pay in her re-election bid? We speculate.

Then, of course, we get to the non-release this week of the supposed “Epstein List,” with the Trump DOJ telling us that there is not, in fact, anything to release at all. Naturally, many are suspicious, and believe we are not being told everything. We discuss.

Finally we clean up on the end of the legislative session, the decision by Governor Mills to hold over several controversial bills, and we close by talking briefly about the implications of the Laurel Libby lawsuit being “moot” now.

All this and more in this week’s Pine Tree Pulse Podcast.
