A big scandal hit Maine this week, a story broken by Steve Robinson of The Maine Wire and The Robinson Report. A resident of Newburgh received an order from Amazon on Tuesday, which included 250 authentic State of Maine absentee ballots printed in advance of the Nov. 4, 2025, statewide election.
The delivery of election ballots to an unauthorized Maine resident raises questions about the security of Maine’s elections under Secretary of State Shenna Bellows at a time where Maine people will be asked to implement a statewide voter ID system this November.
Matt and Harris talk about the implications of the scandal on the referendum questions, and what we think may be going on here.
Also, we tackle the government shutdown in Washington, and speculate how long it will last, and ask ourselves (and you) whether or not anyone even cares that it is happening.
This and more on this week’s Pine Tree Pulse.
